Three Apostolus of War: Results of 2024

The year 2024 has passed—the third year of war that we have endured together. This year, the "Returning the Cultural Heritage to Ukraine" project participated in over 30 cultural events both in Ukraine and abroad.

The most significant achievement of 2024 was the publication of four books, three of which we now call the "Apostles of Wartime." These include the Apostolus Christinopolitanus (12th century), the Fedorovych Apostolus of 1574, and the Tesluhiv Apostolus of 1594. Additionally, two Gospels were published: the masterpiece of miniature art, the Galician-Volyn Gospel of the 12th century, and the proof copy of the Dubno Gospel of the 16th century.

In Ukraine, the new books were presented in the following cities:

  • Kyiv, The Museum of St. Sophia Cathedral
  • Lviv, Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU)
  • Dubno, Dubno Castle
  • Peresopnytsia, Cultural-Archaeological Center "Peresopnytsia"
  • Kyiv, Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine
  • Lutsk, Museum of Volyn Icons
  • Lviv, Vasyl Stefanyk Lviv National Scientific Library of Ukraine
  • Sheptytsky, Museum of the History of Religion (Potocki Palace)
  • Radiviliv, Ethnopark "Ladomyriya" (Center for Research and Revival of Volyn)
  • Ostroh, Museum of Books and Printing.

Books were donated to the museum of the National University "Ostroh Academy," the Scientific Library of the Volyn Orthodox Theological Academy, and a guest lecture was held at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.

International presentations were held at the Ukrainian Mutual Aid Society and the oldest university in Istanbul. The Apostolus Christinopolitanus was also presented in Poland: Wrocław, Kraków, Warsaw.

Our facsimile editions are now part of the collections of the New York Public Library in the USA, the University of Oxford in the UK, the Ukrainian House in Istanbul, and Istanbul's oldest university. They were also part of the exhibitions "Millennium Legacy" at Saint Sophia of Kyiv and the "Book Arsenal" in Kyiv.

The Horobets Publishing House joined the "Ukrainian Book Shelf" project in Wrocław and Poznań, Poland.
